Dates

  • Monday 9 February: The Financial Aid and Volunteer applications opens

  • Monday 1 June: The Financial Aid and Volunteer decisions announced

As part of diversity and inclusion efforts, ICML 2026 is happy to provide grants to lower barriers of access to the conference. The grants are intended for individuals for whom attending the conference would cause a financial burden. The available funding for in-person attendance: conference registration and free hotel. The available funding for virtual attendance: virtual conference pass,

Privacy: The information provided in the grant application form will be shared internally among D&I chairs and ICML 2026 staff. Some aggregate statistics will be retained to help plan future initiatives, but we will ensure that no individual identities can be traced, and all the individual responses will be deleted after the conference. Of course, please only provide information you would entrust to D&I chairs and ICML staff. In addition, never entrust potentially vulnerable computer systems with information that could endanger you.

Visa

⚠️ If you need a visa to visit Seoul then we strongly recomend that you register for ICML, generate your visa letter and apply for your visa as soon as possible. We offer an extended canceltion deadline if you apply for your visa by the deadline specified in our cancellation policy

 

Volunteering

  • Volunteer will be assigned two shifts each approximatly 4 hours long.
  • Volunteers need to purchase their registration
  • Volunteers will get their registration refunded after they complete their shifts.
  • We will refund the full conference Tutorials, Conference, and Workshops
  • Volunteers do not receive a complementary hotel room
  • You need to be at least 18 years old to volunteer

Financial Aid

  • We offer both in-person and virtual awards
  • We are unable to provide travel support
  • A In-person award includes a conference registration and a 7 night hotel stay
  • A Virtual award includes a virtual conference registration

How to apply

  • Account: Make sure that the email of the ICML.cc account that you are using to submit the application is linked to your accepted paper(s).
  • Important: Missing and incomplete answers will result in your application being denied.
  • Complete the Application Form
  • EARLY REGISTRATION PRICING ENDS 25 MAY, PRIOR TO THE AID ANNOUNCEMENT. Please register prior to the early pricing deadline, apply for financial aid, and you will be refunded if you are awarded the funding.

Application

How do I know that the Financial Assistance form has been submitted?

We do not send confirmation emails when the Financial Assistance application form is submitted. After you submit the application, a green box stating "Thanks. Your information has been submitted." at the top of the application form confirms the form has been submitted.

Where can I find the paper number/ID for an accepted conference paper?

For Financial Assistance purposes, the paper number/ID for an accepted ICML conference paper is the 4- to 5-digit submission number (#) visible in your OpenReview Author Console.

Should I register for the conference before being notified about financial assistance?

⚠️ If you need a visa: You should register for ICML and apply for your visa as soon as possible. Only registered participants can receive a Visa Invitation Letter. We cannot make exceptions to this policy for liability reasons. If you apply for your visa by the deadline specified in our cancellation policy, we offer an extended cancellation deadline.

If you do register and later receive a complimentary registration, a refund will be applied to the method of payment used to pay for your registration.

Can I submit my financial assistance application before registering for the conference? Does my registration status (registered/unregistered) affect my eligibility for financial assistance?

Yes, you can submit your financial assistance application before conference registration. No, your registration status does not affect eligibility for the financial assistance grant.
