Weather in June and July tends to be sunny and pleasantly warm (average highs 18-25°C, 65-80°F). Neither unpleasantly cold nor hot weather are common during the Summer months. Weather forecast. Here are just a few examples: Get a panoramic view of Seattle from the 520 foot-high observation deck of the Space Needle, watch the fish-throwers at Pike Place Market, visit Seattle's Experience Music Project | Science Fiction Museum's Battlestar Galactica exhibit, catch the Boeing Tour at the Future of Flight, take a sunset dinner cruise (for example, Argosy Cruises or Waterways Cruises), or hike in the Mt. Rainier National Park area. Travel Visa Attendees from many countries will need a visa or other forms travel authorization for entry into the USA. US visa rules can be complex, please check the regulations as they apply to you in advance. Registered participants should contact the organizers for letters of invitation if they need one. Electricity in the US is 110V / 60Hz AC. Cell phones from other countries will typically require tri- or quad-band capability to work (850MHz and 1900MHz bands are used). Distances Downtown Seattle is 11 miles from downtown Bellevue and can be reached by bus or by taxi. Parking in Seattle on weekdays is scarce and expensive. The SeaTac international airport is about 18 miles from either. Portland, Oregon (the location of ACL) and Vancouver, BC, Canada are about 170 miles (270 kilometers) away.
